This handcrafted brass Narsingha horn derives from the roar of a lion: ‘Singh’ and is just like those used at Darbar Sahib in Amritsar. This musical instrument accompanies the procession of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee at the Golden Temple every morning and evening. The sevadar stands up, and trills between one note and the note a tone above as can be seen in the video below.

This Narsingha measures 115cm tall and weighs around 1.7KG. It is made up in 2 pieces with the smaller lower section fitting into the bigger top section so collapses down to around 70cm for easier storage. The brass rings around the bell and joints also contain rattling ball bearings.
